A big day of state-bred racing takes place down at LS and the co-feature will be the $150.000 TTA Sales Futurity-Fillies for TX-bred juvenile ladies. Half of these gals were bred by Woogaloo; however, only one will run in that barn’s colors. Five of the half dozen got in at 118-pounds, but Your Demise will pay a two-pound penalty on the scales for her victory in a $75.000 restricted event last month. It’s an interesting group so let’s meet the field for the TTA Sales Futurity-Fillies:
#1 Meta First (Angelos Stable/R.E. Eramia 118): Precocious lass won on debut at SA before being sold for $101.000. New barn tried her in a spot similar to this and came away with a stakes-placing. The winner from that contest returns here as well, so she’ll need to show improvement, but she does receive two pounds from that runner.
#2 Ant Bee (Luz International/L.J. Luzzi 118): Homebred took two cracks to break her maiden, but she has shown ample speed in both efforts. Drawn well for this first crack at winners, and she’ll be trying to duplicate the winning performance at this distance. Should be involved from the time they spring the gates.
#3 Your Demise (Luz International/S. Elliott 120): Stablemate to the two, this gal has yet to taste defeat but she’ll have to spot the field two-pounds for this assignment. She’s shown an ability to sit behind a target before pouncing and is well-drawn for that type of attack here. The weight is the only issue.
#4 Yellowjacket (Broken Spoke Stables/R. Eikleberry 118): Showed speed in the debut before settling for 4th while beaten only three-quarters of a length. Returned with a different plan and waited patiently before being produced and powered-home a length clear. Race seems to set up well for similar tactics here and she’s shown she can get this trip.
#5 Veggie Wedges (T Boy Racing/J.L. Alvarez 118): Claimed for $14.000 out of a winning effort at CT, new barn has tried to give her plenty of bottom with a couple long works. She is taking quite a big step up, but have to like the way she rallied in both of her previous starts going a furlong shorter.
#6 Pink Concerto (Woogaloo/E. Valdez Jimenez 118): Maiden rallied to beat half of the field, while making up good ground, to finish fifth in the debut before trying state-bred stakes foes last time. She wasn’t able to produce the same type of rally that day, but she was only beaten three-lengths. Needs some improvement, but the barn should be well-versed in what the competition holds.
Final Analysis: 4-2-3 is how we see them crossing the wire in the TTA Sales Futurity-Fillies at LS. Good luck to all of the connections.
