Rebel Girl is the one to beat. Who might be up to the task?
Dance Smartly Stakes Grade 2
WO 1 1/16 Mile – Turf
For Fillies and Mares Three Years Old and Upward
Rebel Girl has been brilliant lately, earning first or second money in three consecutive graded starts. This five-year-old mare brings her A game every time she steps on the track, and there is no reason to think it will be different this time. Looks like the entrant with the best chance to derail this runaway train is Stellar Agent. Coming in off a win in the Gailorette, Stellar Agent looks primed for an upset. Charlotte de Shark won’t go away quietly. She’s seen the winner’s circle at graded company and looks to get back there with a win here. It’s going to be a horse race and I can’t wait to see how it comes out.
#1 Red Flags
Owner: Maxmillion Farm
Three-year-old filly tried graded company last out but could do no better than 4th. Managed to score a career best 95 SRF. A filly on the improve, but may be asking too much here.
#2 Stellar Agent
Owner: Night Rider Stables
Won the Grade 3 Gailorette at PIM last out at the same distance. Should be in the mix and just might be there at the wire.
#3 Charlotte de Shark
Owner: Aarons Hosses
Came up flat last out after a win in the Grade 3 Wilshire at SA. Maybe not quite ready for Grade 1. Should perform better at this level.
#4 Inquisition
Owner: Arindel
Won at allowance level over this same turf course at this same distance. So we know she likes the track. Will she like the step up in class. Hasn’t so far, but this could be the one.
#5 Hollywood Tours
Owner: Threshold
Second in the Gailorette at PIM behind Stellar Agent in her last start. Looking for a rematch here.
#6 Rebel Girl
Owner: Marijane Racing Stab
Graded placed in all three of her last starts, including a win in the Eatontown at MTH, a race in which Red Flags finished 4th. Looks like the one to beat.
Picks: 6-2-3
