DMR Race #6 $200.000

3YO Fillies 1-Mile (T) 122 Lbs (plus penalties)

Track Record-1:32.22 (Bound For Victory-2012)

Stakes Record-1:33.02 (Amalfi-2021)

After starting her career two-for-two, Coconut Milk looked to be a filly with a very bright future.  She fully realized that potential on Saturday when she took down the G2 San Clemente at DMR.  The G2 San Clemente was her two-turn debut, and only her second turf try; however, the Wood Duck Stables-trainee was nearly two-lengths clear after completing her 1-mile journey in 1:33.80 to claim the first graded-victory of her career.  Cocunut Milk has now earned $323.250 in a career that has seen her post four victories in 10 starts.

Breaking from the rail, Coconut Milk was able to hold her position as she tracked My Imagination through early fractions of :22.36 and :46.49.  She moved off of the rail just as they hit the halfway-point, but she didn’t make a premature move.  She commenced her rally, in earnest, as she entered the turn and quickly confronted My Imagination.

The winner took the lead at the quarter-pole and gradually increased her advantage through the stretch before hitting the wire nearly two lengths in front of My Imagination.  Safe Today Party, the only horse making-up any ground on the winner late, rallied strongly to secure the show.  Im Ugly For Sure and Talk Of The North completed the order of finish.

Congratulations to Coconut Milk and Wood Duck Stables on their victory in the G2 San Clemente!
