The Fleet Treat – $175.000 Ungraded
DMR – 7 Furlongs – Dirt
For Fillies Three Years Old Foaled in CA
July 28, 2022
There was some doubt at the end of the Fleet Treat when Return To Sender came within a neck of the winner, but Angelos Stable’s Theres No Doubt held on to win in wire-to-wire fashion in a four-horse race.
Theres No Doubt jumped out to the lead as soon as the gates opened and never looked back. Return To Sender settled into second by a length as they left the chute for the main track. Level Purple held third by the same margin, and Boudicca trailed early. Through the backstretch, Theres No Doubt and Return To Sender separated themselves from the other two with Level Purple still in third and Boudicca still trailing.
Around the turn, nothing much changed. It was at the head of the stretch that things started to get exciting. Return To Sender swung out wide and made a run at Theres No Doubt while Boudicca started picking it up from the rear. Return To Sender cut Theres No Doubt’s lead to half a length, a quarter of a length. The two hit the wire together, but it was Theres No Doubt holding on by a neck. Boudicca got up for third with Level Purple last.
Theres No Doubt is by Chai Bay out of Pink Doubt (No Doubt About It). Bred by LionKing Stables, Theres No Doubt was claimed in January from Wood Duck Stables. Since then, the filly has finished off the board only once, and that was in the KYOaks (Grade 1). In fact, that was the only time in 14 starts that she finished worse than third. This was her fourth win and brings her career earnings to $490.470. Congratulations to Angelos Stable and Theres No Doubt.
