It’s a small but competitive group of ladies that will be headed to the gate for Saturday’s Trillium Stakes (GIII) going a mile and a sixteenth on the main track, here outside of Toronto. I’ll take Verve as the top selection today, as it looks like she’s about as sharp as you could want a horse to be. If the rain clouds come, you may want to give Pink Attack a big look, as well… either way, I like these two in the exacta.

Techno Slayer | The Sidley Stud | Husbands P | 123 | 4/1 |
No wins this season, but she was third in both the La Canada (GIII) and Flur De Lis Hcp (GI) and usually shows late interest in all races. She’s certainly not afraid of graded company, so this could be a place for her to make some noise.

Anivia | BomBay Stables | Contreras L | 123 | 10/1 |
Nice win in the Morse to kick off the year, then was second in an Alw race at MNR before tiring to be fifth at LAD vs OptAlw types. This is another step up, and I’m not sure it’s in her scope right now… then again, there’s only four in here, so why not take a swing.

Verve | Mb Stables | Boulanger G | 119 | 9/5 |
Three wins in a row after stepping down from graded company. She struggled in the Risen Star (Gii) and FG oaks (GII), but has been doing much better vs. softer. This looks like a logical spot for her and she could be the one to get past.
|
Pink Attack | The Sidley Stud | Kimura K | 123 | 5/2 |
She won the Distaff (GIII) at AQU on a muddy track, but has been tiring of late, in both the Santa Margarita (GII) and the Chicago (GIII). The barn may be doing a rain dance for this one and if it is wet, it could be a spot for her to get another win.
