The Plenty of Grace
AQU Race #2 1m Turf Stake
Purse $100.000 (plus up to $15.000 for NY-breds) For Fillies And Mares Four Years Old And Upward.
1 Locomotion, trained by Nj Vets
Lightly raced she has put in some fair efforts in overnight company despite only four runs in the last
2 years. She ran nicely to be second in an ungraded stakes last time and that was aher first start for
for 6 months so she will be entitled to show a bit of improvement today. She may turn out to be a surprise
package off the inside draw especially as her works on the track have beeb encouraging.
2 Sure Shot Lady, trained by Crocker Ggs
After 31 efforts as a trainer without a win Crocker Cgs tries to break their maiden in a stakes race. I
must say that they have acquired a very nice sort for what looks like a fair price and i wouldnt be
surprised to see them achieve their first win. A winner of five from ten she ran very well to be third
in the grade three Edgewood last year and although she comes here without a race for 5 months she has
been working well enough to suggest a good run.
3 Pooey Brianna, trained by Australia Wide
Bought fairly cheaply she has been kept to overnights so far and has been running well enough to deserve
a crack at a bigger prize. In her last start she won at SA by an easy three lengths in a very fast mile
time and after a super quick workout a few weeks back she looks like she is ready.
4 Ubet Sheza Queen, trained by Ubetracing.com
Carries the 2Lb penalty here but is a tough and experienced stakes filly and is more than capable of giving
that weight away. Her best recent start was probably when she was beaten just a head in the grade two Mrs
Revere Stakes and a repeat of that will see her go very close.
5 Shake It Daddy, trained by The Sidley Stud
Its been a while since this five year old has shown the sort of form that would give her a good chance in this.
Whilst she has been working pretty well i cant give her too much chance until she shows a glimmer of her old self
on the track.
6 Time To Leave, trained by Hambletonian Stables
Another that carries a penalty thanks to a gutsy nose win in the CC Tiara she is a veteran of 11 wins from 33 starts
and comes into teh race with more experience than the rest of the field. She has been campaigned mostly in open
allowances recently but never really runs a bad race and most of those races are every bit as good as a stakes race
so it is good form. The outside gate bias seems to have been adjusted recently so it may not be so bad as it was and
despite the 2 Lbs extra she shuld give a good account of herself.
SUMMARY
I cant go past an improving filly owned by Australia Wide for this os its Phooey Briana on top for me with Time To
Leave and Sure Shot Lady keeping her honest.
