I told ya she has more than three gears!  Smokey Stover continues his very successful ’22 campaign, taking the top two spots as Third Gear kicked clear down the lane to take the Cotillion Stakes (GI) and the bulk of the massive $1,000.000 purse.  Stable-mate Jinxed Artist was forwardly placed throughout this one, and I just don’t think she saw her barn-sister coming… taking the runner-up spot by a quarter length.  Twin Towers Racing dominated the minor money as the eight-horse ran third (no, I won’t play your silly reindeer games), just in front of her stable-mate, Karloffs Monster.    Only five lengths from front to back in this hotly contested stakes… and note that the two post-time favorites were last/next-to-last.  The final running time was 1:41.89 for the mile and a sixteenth, over the fast PRX oval.  

Third Gear is a chestnut 3yo filly by Motorhead – Tri County, by El Gran du Nebraska, and she was bred by Crocker Cgs in ON.  Smokey Stover acquired this one via private purchase, five starts back, for $300.000, and she has four wins in five starts since switching to this top-notch conditioner.  She shows five wins from eight starts and earnings of $989.640, and I’m sure that bank-roll with continue to grow.  Congrats to the Connections!
