Off to Louisville for the gimmick of all gimmicks, it’s the Claiming Crown, which in these parts seems to be a bit comical. The field for the CC Iron Horse draws eleven entrants going a mile and a sixteenth on the famed CD oval, and I’ve landed on Black Plague as the top pick. He ran big taking down Alw foes at DED after being haltered for $7.500, but he’s a horse that I think can rise to the occasion today… the Green Card also took him as the second choice. I went to the outside post and took Angle Of Attack as the second pick. He’s another that was recently tagged, taken for just $6.000, and came back to win on a wet track at FE… he also won on a wet track when claimed, so they may want a wet surface. The Green Card took Db Cooper as the top pick and he’s another that certainly deserves a big look. He won at AQU for $20.000 claimer last out, and makes the first start for this barn. He should run big, showing five wins from eight seasonal starts.
