1st: #7 First Down Dash (Axeman/D. Van Dyke 124): Broke with the stalking flight, between runners.  Moved a bit closer through the opening quarter while still racing in the two-path.  Engaged the leader rounding the bend before assuming command at the top of the lane.  Finished under a drive to prevail by a length.

2nd: #6 Palace Guard (Fractious/V. Espinoza 123): Broke between runners in midpack.  Moved-up rounding the turn.  Had to move to the four-path and then six-wide for clear run.  Finished strongly to just nab the photo for the place.

3rd: #5 House Command (The Sidley Stud/M.E. Smith 121): Soon found the rail while racing 4th early.  Moved-off the rail rounding the bend.  Got clear run at the top of the lane but couldn’t hold the place in a good effort.

First Down Dash now stands 33-11-7-1 with earnings of $516.120.  Congratulations to him and Axeman on their victory in the $100.000 Grant Stakes at DMR!
