1 Kapalu Smokey Stover Stein J
Started off way back on the second of April with a second on debut but was then put away until the 28th October when he raced her second start and won a mile maiden at GG. She pulled right away from the small field that day and has since worked a very competitive 1.37 and 2 for the dirt mile making her very much a competitor today. The draw will suit her on pace style and she is from a stable renowned for their juvenile fillies.
2 Chrystal Grove Maletto Carroll D
She already has ten starts under her belt and looks to be coping pretty well with the busy schedule. Her first run over ground was in her last start when she stayed on strongly to be second in a PRX Allowance and although it was a small field she kept fighting and looked to be suited by the longer trip. She may not have the scope of some of these but she is hard fit and experienced and that can count for a fair bit in these juvenile races.
3 Hard Pinnacle Party Nakamura Stables Wenc I C
Won on debut at the free track but then struggled in her next three starts as can sometimes happen. She found winning ways again last time out in the Anoakia Stakes over six furlongs but was strong at the end and i don’t think this trip will bother her. She gets a decent gate and strikes a field she can cope with so i expect a competitive run from her.
4 Crimson Grandeur TwinTowersRacing Kimura K
The stable has had a tremendous year and once again throws a filly into stakes company for the first time who is on the up and could just ruffle a few feathers. She had taken six races to break her maiden and whilst that is hardly a recommendation it does give her plenty of experience and she is proven at this trip. Like most runners are from this yard she is sure to run above herself but i struggle a little to see her winning.
5 Temperature Aer Stables Moran D
Whilst the four inside drawn horses have yet to prove themselves at this level the best of the form seems to be drawn wider and this is the first of the more obvious chances. A gutsy winner of the My Dear from a wide draw she has since run in two decent races finishing third in the grade one DMR Debutante last time. She has looked a bit one paced over the shorter trips so may have been hanging out for a mile or further and you would have to rate her a winning chance.
6 Celine D J C Racing Stables Gallardo A A
Another that won on debut and then struggled a little in finding the second win which she finally did last time out. She has been in stakes races since that debut win so you can hardly blame her for an unblemished record but her gutsy performance last time to win the Golden State Juvenile tells me she is ready to step up for a third win pretty soon. Fast works, lovely breeding and coming off a stakes win she must be a strong chance.

Her record may look a bit inconsistent but with two wins and the last in a good allowance over ground she is certainly in with a good chance. Her record looks all the more inconsistent because of a failed run on turf two back but i really like her last work on the dirt and feel she may be the dark horse in this race.
8 Triple Decker Maxmillion Farm Crawford J
Took a while to break maidens but when she did she quickly proved she was just learning her trade wit ha solid fourth in the Pocahontas. After being bought for $125 she quickly repaid the new owner with a strong front running display to win the Princess Elizabeth last time and looks perfectly entered today to follow that up. The draw of course isn’t easy and she will need legs that don’t spin and nobody chasing her too hard to do that again but she is clearly very capable and has a very nice form line through her last three efforts.
9 Pepper Potts Czech Out Farms Wilson E J
You cant knock this ones record of two wins from three so this is a good entry to see what she really has. Her works don’t suggest that she is a superstar but there are plenty of graded stakes winners who aren’t the strongest workers so i wouldn’t be too put off. The wide draw will make it tough as her two wins have come from gate two but she has a punchers chance and i wish her owner the best of luck.
10 Adare Manor Robeth Husbands P
The car park goes to this one race winner who was pretty disappointing in the PID Debutante last time after a game maiden win. Her works are only fair so she is up against it again here but this is the time of year you have to find out what they have and she gets another chance here and over a longer trip so we will just have to wait and see what she does.
SUMMARY
A funny old race as there is plenty of experience in the field and a mixture of form. I rather like Triple Decker, Celine and Temperature to fill the first three places as they have the form on the board but i wouldn’t be shocked to see Kapalu or Hard Pinnacle Party split them up.
