1st: #3 Fire Marshall Bill (Nakamura Stables/J. Crawford 121): Tracking trip one off the rail. Angled out to the center of the course nearing the final bend as he moved into contention. Made the front at the top of the lane while racing outside of horses.
2nd: #1 Lantern Yard (Avenue Z/F.T. Alvarado 121): Settled towards the rear early. Crept closer up the rail down the backside. Found a seam at the top of the lane and made his move but could not get to the winner.
3rd: #8 Speightstown (Nakamura Stables/E. Maldonado 121): Three-wide around first two turns while contesting the pace. Continued three-wide move around the final bend, but could not quicken when the time came.
4th: #2 Spiral (Mb Stables/Mar. Garcia 124): Tracked front-running trio from the rail. Made a little progress exiting the turn but could not keep pace as he just lost the show.
Congratulations to Fire Marshall Bill and Nakamura Stables on their victory in the G2 Hollywood Turf Cup! The final time for the 12-furlongs was 2:25.60 as Fire Marshall Bill claimed the half-length victory for his fifth win from 15 starts. The winner has now earned $441.800 in his career.
