Made it two in a row taking down an Alw race at PRX in pretty fast time last out. That was at today’s distance and certainly looks like he’s putting things together including that NY-bred stakes win at AQU prior to that. So he’s undefeated this season, but I think this is a tough spot to keep that streak going.
Closed fast to be second at TP last out while facing open stakes company. Much better than that tiring effort in the Lecomte (GIII) at FG prior to that start. He’s facing seasoned graded horses again here today, so this will be a tough test again and I sure hope he tries that off-the-pace move here today.
Won back off the claim for the new barn, and they certainly think they have something, going right after graded horses. He won three of four starts last year and may have gotten lost a bit in the mega stable that is Mb. Wire to wire in that last effort and he may try to run off and hide here again today.
Took a swing at the TC trail and got his proverbial butt handed to him running last of fourteen in the SUN Derby (GIII) last out. Now he backs up to a distance that he loves but faces graded, older horses today. I think he needs to stick to 3yo’s for a while before going after this type… then again…
He hasn’t won this season in three attempts, and his best effort was a tiring third v. NY-bred stakes horses while sprinting at 6f. It’s hard to think he’s going to fire his best shot v. open graded company, so it’s hard to give him a big shot today. I think he’s an outsider.
Hard fought second v. graded horses at GP in the Skip Away (GIII) last out and that certainly was his best effort in quite some time. He’s won thirteen races in his career, so he’s not showing his age. Three wins this season prior to the runner-up effort, so the ol’ boy sure does seem to be in fine form.
A win and a second in his last two starts, both v. smaller stakes company, and he’s about as consistent as you could want a horse to be. Off the board in one lifetime start, but again we have a 3yo facing older horses and I’m just not a big fan. He may have some odds and could pull an bit of an upset if he runs his best.
Got a bit leg weary late in the SA Derby (GI) where he was fifth but only beaten a length for the whole shabang. Won the Spectacular Bid at GP prior to that and has been solid despite only having five lifetime starts. Did I mention that I’m not big on 3yo’s in these races? Well… I said it again.
