Wicked Heat is Wicked Hot in KY Oaks

Well wasn’t that just wicked… Wicked Heat that is!  Sitting mid pack in the early stages of the KY Oaks (GI), the EasyMoney Stables owned chestnut worked her way into contention, battled throughout the stretch and got the job done by a quarter length while stopping the timer in 1:47 and 4/5th for the mile and an eighth distance.  Notarized Kate used her normal late turn of foot to come flying late and just miss and in typical HRP fashion, we had a dead-head for the third spot between Track Queen and Shake It Off.  We also had a DH for last… because one is never enough.

Wicked Heat is a 3yo chestnut filly by Commanding – Soul Gem, by Ghost Walker, and she was bred in ON by her owner, EasyMoney Stables.  This is her second win of the ’15 season and she has won five of ten races in her career, now showing lifetime earnings of $1,446.580.  Congratulations to both horse and owner on this historic win.

Wicked Heat stalked the leader early, sat just off of the pace, responded when asked, won driving.  Notarized Kate rated off of the pace, unhurried, closed quickly, game effort.  Track Queen just behind the early speed, closed determinedly, finished even with foe.  Shake It Off broke alertly, just off of the pace, up to take command, weakened late, dead heat for third.  Dirty Deeds mid-pack early, four wide, evenly.  Fleeting Affair away well, contested the pace, tired late.  Minda taken back from the break, some late foot while not a factor.  Love In The Mist in hand early, no factor.  Command And Conquer off a step slow, outrun.  Summer Sampler rated, never fired.  Call Me Lucky good early speed from the rail, disputed the pace to midway on the far turn, tired.  Art Of Glory mid-pack, rushed up into the back side while wide, tired.  Fidele Fille saved ground, not a factor.  Exclusive Ballerina away quickest of all from the far outside, set the pace, headed, stopped badly.
