1st: #11 Bold Ruler (Fractious/F. Prat): Was allowed to drop back to last shortly after the break. Moved to the rail, while still trailing, midway down the backside. Started passing horses entering the turn but was still 9th entering the lane. Moved back to the rail with just over a furlong to go and uncorked a powerful move to get by and draw off to win by a length. (20 KYD Points)
2nd: #3 Domiano (Night Mare Racing/J. Lezcano): Broke with the stalking group and two-wide around the first bend. Started his forward move well into the lane and just couldn’t match the winner’s stride despite putting in a strong rally. (8 KYD Points)
3rd: #7 Prevent (Mb Stables/L. Detorri): Settled towards the rear while four-wide around the first turn. Was widest of all making the turn for home. Rallied from the center of the course but couldn’t reel-in the top pair. (6 KYD Points)
4th: #6 Sins On Broadway (Arindel/Mario Gutierrez): Quick to settle into a tracking trip from the rail. Started his forward move just inside 3f pole. Engaged leader at the top of the lane; however, once he got by, he couldn’t hold on. (4 KYD Points)
5th: #8 Raise It (Wood Duck Stables/Mar. Garcia): Hustled to the front and the rail. Was still two-up rounding the final bend. Came under pressure entering the stretch. Fought on but couldn’t keep rivals at bay. (2 KYD Points)
Bold Ruler, 3yo Colt (Neon Wolf o/o Sneaky Authority), improves to 4-2-0-0 with $181.000 in earnings. The final time for the 8.5 furlongs was 1:41.67 and the margin of victory was almost a full length. Congratulations to Bold Ruler and Fractious on their G3 Lewis Stakes victory!
