Fly By Night looks strong in this field. Graded placed and is taking a step down in class. But then there’s Sinister City who earned the highest SRF in the field. And don’t overlook Nevada Jess. She came very close to winning the Grade 2 Miss Grillo and is working very well.  Lawitz looks good, too, and could be due for a big win. Here’s the field:

1 Trizzi (Fractious) Won her last two starts. Seems to have found her groove on turf after a rocky start on dirt.

2 Average Girl (Axeman) Broke her maiden at DMR but couldn’t get it done at graded or allowance level, so she was dropped into a $40.000 claimer last out and wired the field to win by three. Not sold on this one.

3 Groovy (Calia Stable) Running really well last few starts, including a second in the Ginger Brew last start. Like her chances.

4 Five Shot Nightmare (Lazy Eye) Allowance winner last out, wiring the field in her her first start on turf and going a distance. Trying stakes for the first time.

5 Sweet Feet (Mb Stables) Maiden win on turf. Allowance win on dirt. Best stakes performance came in the 5-furlong WO Cares Stakes where she finished third. Will take a top effort here.

6 Fly By Night (Bigchief Stables) Graded placed. Should like this spot better and could be there at the wire.

7 Sinister City (The Freakshow) Coming in riding a two-race win streak in allowance and optional company. Earned a 93 SRF last out. Expect a big effort from this one.

8 Nevada Jess (Nakamura Stables) When she’s good, she is very good, finishing second in the Grade 2 Miss Grillo. Worst performances came in her last start on dirt and in the BC Juvenile Fillies Turf where she finished last. Working very well coming up to this race and deserves a look.

9 Didactic Queen (Serenity Stables) In the money both career starts, but lack of experience could be a factor for this one.

10 Lawitz (Out Athletes) Missed a graded win by a nose in the Surfer Girl Stakes. Has only missed the board once in six starts, but only a maiden win. Wouldn’t be a surprise if she got her second win here.
