SUN Race #6 $100.000

NM-Bred 3YOs 120 LBS (plus penalties) 1-Mile

#1 Luna Beech (Asgar/L.R. Rodriguez 122): Gelding makes his ’23 bow after just missing in juvenile finale at this same level.  Rail draw should help him save ground before he uncorks his customary late rally.

#2 Bahamut (Ashwood Farms/J. Carreno 120): Gelding won two straight for this outfit after being plucked from the auction.  Spun his wheels versus tougher in December.  Won on the front-end sprinting before taking back in his last two.

#3 Mean Az Kelsie (Hawaiian Shirt Guy/E.P. Gomez 120): Broke his maiden just a couple weeks ago, but this will be his second crack at this level.  He’s always been quick enough to stay close and his figs keep improving.

#4 Robby Lotto (Mb Stables/M.T. Fuentes Jr 122): Already a winner at this level, he’ll make his ninth straight start against state-bred foes.  Showed speed in his lone route try before finishing up the track.

#5 Indescribable (Ace Racing Stable/L.A. Fuentes 120): Two-time winner has taken four cracks at this level but has yet to get over the hump.  Speedy type is another who struggled in his first attempt going a route of ground.

#6 Hazard Zone (Luz International/M.A. Perez 120): Tagged out of a $20.000 MCL victory, he’s winless in two starts for this outfit.  He was only beaten two-lengths last time he tried these, and he was able to stay a bit closer in his first run on this engine.

#7 Ladies Want Me (T Boy Racing/A.J. Juarez Jr 122): King of NM has won four straight, including three similar events, and he keeps his jockey around for this encounter.  He’s not bound to a style, but this will be his first try on this engine.

#8 A Nation Of Doubt (Fractious/K.S. Tohill 120): Took a January allowance in his first try against restricted foes and takes a logical step up with this assignment.  Rallied from midpack last month and should get pace to run at here.

#9 Luna North (Asgar/K. Purcell 120): Two-time winner gets his second try at the level but will have to prove he can stretch out.  Was only beaten a length going six-panels against similar and should be able to stay close early.

#10 What Way (Night Rider Stables/A. Medellin 120): Tagged for $9.000 in his debut, returned the faith besting $20.000 claimers to break his maiden.  Couldn’t keep up with allowance foes last month and gets no favors with the draw.

Final Analysis: 7-4-8 is how we’ll play the Hedeman Mile at SUN.  Good luck to all involved.
