Who Will Be The Very One at GP

The Very One – Grade III
GP Race #7 1 3/8m InTurf Graded Stake
Purse $150.000 For Fillies And Mares Four Years Old And Upward.

1 Ginger Tiara The Sidley Stud Dettori L 124 —

She looked to be heading in the right direction last year when she won the grade three Regret but failed to kick on from that win and has been beaten a fair way since. This will be her first run as a four-year-old and that could mean she is better or worse, but we will have to wait and see. Her works suggest she is no worse so if she is fit enough, she should run well especially as she has secured the services of Dettori over a few of her rivals today.

2 The Storm Is Here TwinTowersRacing Cedillo A 124 —

She grew into a consistent three-year-old and looked like she was going to make a slid four-year-old, so it was no surprise to see her run so well to be second in the grade two La Prevoyante Handicap last time. She had to run from wide that day and did really well suggesting that she may well be the one with this great draw today to be the most likely winner.

3 Gazing Angie Sim Speed Stable Hernandez C J 124 —

For a stable that normally values their horses much, much higher it was a surprise to see this very nice three-year-old go in a claimer and duly get snapped up. It is great that this player ended up with her as they have only had 27 starts at HRP and 5 wins with this filly providing two of those and both of them being stakes races. There is plenty to like about her ability and heart and this could well be three out of three since she was claimed.

4 Mongolian Khan Threshold Ferrer J C 124 —

A nicely bred filly she was a decent three-year-old without really taking on the best and looked like this sort of trip would suit her in the long run. She came back after a break to take out an allowance on seasonal debut and sets herself up nicely for this race.

5 Ckon Kiwi BomBay Stables Talamo J 124 —

This filly had been pretty dominant on the free track, but that form didn’t transfer to SA last time when she was a well beaten fourth. Well worth another try it is hard to give her a winning hope but i expect a better run.

6 Sin City Girlz Czech Out Farms Centeno D E 124 —

The form around this five-year-old tells one story but the works tell another and i do like these five-year-olds when they take on the fours at this time of year. Two clear cut wins over this trip in lesser company this year read really well, and I just feel she may be the surprise package.

7 Drunk Pinata Keikowin Racing Wilson E J 124 —

You could not fault her very easy win in a 12-furlong maiden at SA last time but this is a big step up from the wide gate. There is no doubt she will be up to this grade at some point in her career it is just whether this race comes too soon.

SUMMARY

An interesting race which i feel may be between Mongolian Khan and Sin City Girlz.
