Starting Over did just that in the Correction. She hadn’t had a win since the Fritchie Stakes (Grade 3) last February. And some of her current races might have made one wonder if she was done at age 5. But then she finished second in the Santa Monica (Grade 2) last month and scored a 100 SRF in the process. She definitely was not done.

She broke from the gate last and stayed at the back of the pack. She had just one horse beaten at the first call and sat patiently behind a wall of horses until the head of the stretch when a hole opened up and she took advantage, taking the lead in the shadow of the wire and pulling away by almost a length. As expected, Her World performed well in the slop to get second.

1 Starting Over (TwinTowersRacing) Took the lead in deep stretch and pulled away by ¾ length.

2 Her World (D J C Racing Stables) Led at every call except the last one and finished second.

3 Esprezzo (Gdp Inc) Stalked the pace and held on for third.

4 Tunted (Night Rider Stables) Last early, made a run late to get up for fourth.

5 Marty (La Canada Racehorses) Stalked the pace early, faded to fifth.

6 Bora Stormwarrior (Arindel) Never involved.

7 Mercy Authority (Martyparty) Involved early, faded to last.

Starting Over is by Start The Car out of Im Over It (City Of Angels). The win is her fifth in twenty-one starts and brings her career earnings to $647.360. Congratulations to Starting Over and TwinTowersRacing!
