3YOs  120 Lbs 7 Furlongs

1st: #4 Figure Of Speech (Arindel/P. Lopez): Last soon after the break.  Still trailing, just off the rail entering the turn.  Started moving while sliding out to the center of the track at the three-furlong marker.  Still had two lengths to erase with a furlong to run.  Determined rally to get by runner-up in the final 50-yards.

2nd: #5 Higher Rate (Asgar/D.E. Centeno): Quick out of the gate to set a solid tempo.  Had a two-length advantage through the backstretch before getting away a bit in upper stretch.  Gritty down the lane, but just couldn’t hold off the winner’s charge in a fine effort.

3rd: #6 King Noah (Arindel/L. Saez): Four-wide and running third through the backstretch.  Was able to tuck in a path or two nearing the turn.  Couldn’t match the runs of the top two but outfought rival to earn the show honors.

Congratulations to Figure Of Speech and Arindel on their victory in the $400.000 Lafayette!  This is the first stakes victory for Figure Of Speech, and he improves to 11-2-3-1 with earnings of $378.520.
