That’s two in a row as he’s beat up on Alw horses in his last two starts. Jumps back in to graded company and he has the history to be right in the thick of this. Sold for $375.000 at the end of last season so the new barn is ready to go back after the big guys. He fits well and should be in this when they turn for home.

War Scent | Mb Stables | Bejarano R 7/5 | 124 |
About as consistent a horse as you could ever want to see. Three starts this season and has a win, a placing and a third to show for his efforts. Was on the board in six of eight starts last season but the down side is he only had one win on the season. He was third on BC Day, so there’s no doubt that he is a tough tough competitor.

Grande Sournoise | Drabfantasy | Talamo J 12/1 | 121 |
Only three lifetime starts for the 3yo and only one start this season. He looks like a nice horse that may have a heck of a future in front of him, but this is a salty bunch for a sophomore to try to crash the party. Look for the upper-classman to beat him up and send him home.

Royal Sevens | Sizing Europe Lodge | Smith M E 7/1 | 124 |
Solid when on the Tampa Turf taking the Tampa Turf Classic where he got up late to win by a head. He doesn’t have the black-type starts that some of these show, but he is a consistent type that seems to love the sod and the longer distances. He would be an upset to win but should be close in the late stages.

That was a better run in the SF Mile (GIII) where he tired late to be third. He’s made a living off of closing late and getting in the thick of things but has been out towards the lead of late and tiring. I’d love to see him go back to his old ways of snugging down early and coming after them late… if not, it may be another pace-setting and tiring day.
