Snow Chief Stakes
1 1/8 Mile Turf Stake Purse $200.000 Open 3 Year Olds Foaled In CA.
1st Classic Cliche, trained by Blushing Meadows
A little slowly away the lightly raced gelding wasnt rushed and was allowed
to find his pace in behind the leaders. When asked to go and win his race, he
picked up nicely and showed a decent turn of foot to go away and win by just
under a length. This was a big step to take after just breaking his maiden last
tie out but he coped very well and looks destined for bigger and better things.
2nd Fee Fi Fo Fum, trained by Joshua Stables
Got the tactics from the wide gate spot on and ran a decent race to be second.
He may have paid for the gate late on but he was no real match for the winner.
3rd Show Ya Oysters, trained by Mm Racing
Looked the winner a furlong out but floundered inside the final furlong and
finished a tired third. I suspect his future lays over a mile or less so this
wasnt a bad effort.
4th Spin City, trained by Maxmillion Farm
Towards the rear but never far away he stayed on past horses to be a good fourth
especially when you consider his lack of experience at this level.
5th Western Ideal
Dropped to the trail he never got closer than he was at the end.
6th Lord Byron
Staked the leaders and looked dangerous to the mile point but weakened out of
it in the end. He may be better on dirt.
7th Know How Skeleton
Got stuck in midpack and never looked happy.
8th Inverted Calibration
Got the wide speed push and ran like a sprinter in a route race.
