La Roo was in no hurry coming out of the gate and didn’t really start running until the last furlong. But when she did, she turned it on and hit the wire a length in front of Soviet Spy who made her run from midpack. Wavy Girl came from the clouds with La Roo but couldn’t match strides with that one and but got up for show money.
Complete Order of Finish:
1 La Roo (Our Athletes) Closed with a strong run to win by a length.
2 Soviet Spy (Nakamura Stables) Stalked the pace and moved late to get second.
3 Wavy Girl (Saratoga Stud) Made a late run but too little too late to get the win.
4 Macaneau (Lazy Eye) Last to fourth in a huge run for this unexperienced filly.
5 Fire Atriste (Alydar Stables) Close early but faded to fifth.
6 Twilight Time (Fractious) Even performance got her to the wore sixth.
7 Avengement (Axeman) Never fired.
8 Abcde (Royalty Stables) Led at every call but the last, faded badly.
9 A Lot To Like (Riggins Racing) Made a run midway but couldn’t sustain it.
10 Atomic Woman (Arindel) Never a factor.
Our Athletes’ homebred, La Roo is by Our Dark Knight x Roo (The Rock). This was her fourth win in eleven starts and brings her career earnings to $580.050. Congratulations to La Roo and Our Athletes.
