The girls get after it around 5pm and we have a cracker-jack crew going a flat mile in The Acorn, here at Big Sandy.  I’d love to make some big, bad, bold prediction of how someone is just going to shred Wicked Heat, but I just can’t say it with a straight face.  Can she get beat?  Sure… will she?  Well, that’s a different story.  She’s about as consistent as you could ever want a race filly to be and a repeat of her race in either the FG Oaks (GII) or the KY Oaks (GI) and she will be back getting her picture taken while the rest are shaking their heads.

I’m going to put Track Queen in the second spot here today, just because I think the post position leads to her off-the-pace style.  She seemed a bit cramped from the five post in the KY Oaks (GI) and I think this suits her style and she will certainly be a huge factor as they make their way down that long BEL stretch.

Let’s give the lightly raced Shake It Off a shot here today.  In only her fourth trip to the starting gate, she ran a big race in the KY Oaks (GI) even though she got a bit leg weary late in that one.  Again, the post did her no favors, jumping out of the twelve hole with her tactical speed style.  Now from the five she may be able to settle in, make the most of a one-turn mile race, and be full of run when they head for glory.

I’d love to give Notarized Kate a bigger chance but that fourteen hole is just a lot to overcome.  Minda can’t seem to find a home, despite her talents, and caught a bad draw, and Swarley Kapai may be an outsider that could get a small portion and help the tri along.

Good luck to all the ladies…
