Nakamura’s Keep Silent has quietly earned a very impressive record. Never out of the money in seven career starts, he takes on five challengers in the Pegasus at MTH, coming off a four race winning streak. His strongest competition will likely come from Phooeys Ideal and Pentagon.

Here’s the field:

1 One More Moment
Owner: Luz International
Breeder: Maletto

With four wins in eight starts and only $28.000 in earnings to date, this gelding seems a bit outclassed here. Turned in a bullet work at PRX on June 11, but will need to really step it up to compete against these

2 Phooeys Ideal
Owner: Nynl Stables
Breeder: LionKing Stables

First start off KYD where he beat just one horse in a field of twenty. Prior to that, he made a good showing in Grade 3 Spiral and Sham Stakes. Will probably benefit from the shorter distance and should be a factor.

3 Reindeer
Owner/Breeder: Triple T Racing

Another one trying to take a big step up in class. Allowance winner at this distance. Last out finished 3rd in the $100.000 Sir Barton also at this distance. Best when he’s close to the pace, so look for him up front early.

4 Pentagon
Owner: D J C Racing Stables
Breeder: Blushing Meadows

Looked like a Derby contender early on but hasn’t been successful beyond a mile. He is a graded stakes winner as a two-year-old but at 6 ½ furlongs. Finished 7th in the Fountain of Youth but only 2 lengths off the winner and earned a 96 SRF. Could be in the mix.

5 French Jackie
Owner/Breeder: Gdp Inc

Wired a field of five last out in state-bred allowance company at this distance. But with only three starts, he is the least experienced entrant here. Could show the way early.

6 Keep Silent
Owner: Nakamura Stables
Breeder: Mb Stables

The likely favorite in this race. Won the Grade 3 Marine last out in the mud at WO. Could very well stretch that win streak to five here.
