Fillies and Mares will be going a flat mile on the inner turf course as we continue to do BEL at AQU and we look at the field for The Noble Damsel (GIII).  I’m following the Green Card in this one and put Gazing Angie on top.  She had back to back stakes scores in the ET Mint Julep (GIII) and Anchor, both of those at CD.  She was fourth in the Yellow Rose Hcp (GII) at DMR last out and I think she bounces back today.  Let’s go to the rail and give Directors Chair a shot in this one.  She rarely misses the board and just missed last out at The Spa when second in an Empire state-bred stakes. More of that and she should be tough.

A big day of racing at PRX and the marathon types get their chance at a nice payday in the Greenwood Cup, and mile and a half main track stakes and this one could go any number of ways.  I’m going to go out on a limb a bit and take Tango Mango as the top choice.  Since being haltered at the $6.250 level, he’s won three in a row, stepping up and stepping out in every race.  The distance may be the only questions mark, but I think he’s ready to make some noise today.  Smoking Makes You Il will be the post time favorite, in my eye, and should be considered when making those wagers.  He won the SA Hcp (GI) and the Ali (GIII) at KEE before that dud in the Gold Cup (GI) at SA, in his most recent.  I’ll draw a line through that one and give him a big shot here today.

The speedsters get a chance to show their stuff as we look at the field for the Turf Monster, a five furlong dash on the PRX sod and I’m going with Sweet Neddy as the slight favorite in this one.  He looked good winning on the set SAR sod last out, taking the Mahogany, and beat Alw horses at MTH prior to that.  He has speed, no doubt.  I also like Kyrie in this spot… There’s a ton of speed and his off-the-pace sprint ability could come in very handy today.  Love Insist won over this course last out, and he looks dangerous, as well.

OK City and RP will host the RP Oaks (GIII) and a field of seven sophomore ladies will head post-ward for this mile and a sixteenth main track test.  I’m going single in this one and taking Temperature as the top pick.  She closed to be third in the CT Oaks (GIII) and won the Eatontown (GIII) at MTH back in June.  That was on the sod, but she seems to run will on any surface and looks the class to me.  The Green Card took In Progress as the second choice, if you are looking at an exacta…
