Sunday Stakes at KEE… yeah, I like it! A full field of fillies and mares will be headed post-ward in the Spinster (GI), a mile and an eighth main trace test on the main track, here in Lexington. Man-oh-man, what a great field for this one, and there is any number of ways to go… the undefeated moment To Reflect, six entrants with > $1,000.000 in earnings, you can make a case for just about any of these. But, we have to throw a dart and I’ll go with Starting Over as the top selection. She’s won three of her last four and was the runner-up in that other race, all GI races, and her only off-the-board race of ’23 was a fifth, just a length back. Now, that was over this track, in the Vinery Madison (GI), but a 7f sprint that I can draw a line thru. Another that really grabs my attention is Matamata… she has a 4/1/0 from six starts, has four graded wins this year, and just missed in the Baller (GI), over a sloppy SAR main track. I don’t think the 7f distance is her game, and she was still right there… she looks ready to get after it. I like Spearmint Rhino a little, Moment To Reflect, as mentioned, is undefeated, and Jinxed Artist makes a tough one-two with Matamata… grab a cold-snack and lets get a spot by the rail… it’s going to be a great race.
