A nice group of youngsters will kick off a big day for the 2yo’s as we look at the field for The Champagne (GI) and big implications towards the BC Races.  I can’t get past Fayette County in this one, despite the deep field of talent we look at.  He’s undefeated, won the Best Pal (GIII) at DMR then the Hopeful (GI) at SAR, and he looks to keep it rolling in this one. Dmc Racing seems to have a monster on their hands.  I’ll look at West Of The Bay and Free Agent under that on, trying to knock-out the exacta and tri… the prior changing hands after that DMR Futurity (GI) win and the latter being a perfect 2-for-2 since the vet stopped by to change his perspective on things, and that includes a big win in the Sapling at MTH.  It’s deep, talented and should be a great race.

The young ladies are the next in-line to go to the starting gate as we head out to SoCal and SA, site of the 2023 BC Races, and look at the field for the Chandelier Stakes (GI), a mile and a sixteenth main track stakes.  This looks to be wide open, and I’ll give No More Shots the slight edge off of that Sorrento Stakes (GIII) win (DH) at DMR.  That’s two in a row, so she comes into this one with some real momentum.  Warped Pinnacle will my second spot off of that second in the Sorority at MTH.  I like the way she was moving late, and the extra sixteenth could spell win for this one.  Agapova just missed, closing quickly in the DMR Debutante (GI) and she is another that should love the added distance.  If she does, I’d really keep an eye on her in the late stages and she could be any type.

Let’s stay out west and give the guys a look as there will be a full field of twelve 2yo’s headed to the gate in the Pharoah Stakes (GI), again at the mile and a sixteenth main track distance.  This is a tough one for me, so I went default and asked Ali… because, a man has to know his limitations.  She likes Free Roundhouse because, and get this, she thought it said Roadhouse and Patrick Swayze is still her fav… look, I’m not fighting with her.  She likes Freakie The Ghost in second because it’s almost Halloween and “doesn’t Mb win everything?”… again, can’t fault the logic.  She like Ocean Storm in third because we live at the beach… Best handicapping practices, probably not, and you may want to go with the Green Card in this one, but she’s been right before so…  good luck to all!!
