Road To Glory went straight to the lead out of the gate but backed off and let Chilly Charley and Christmas Rainbow duel it out during the early going with Out On A Limb trailing. By the time the field of four had gone ¼ mile in 22:97, Chilly Charley and Christmas Rainbow had opened two lengths on Road To Glory and another two on Out On A Limb.
On the turn, Out On A Limb moved to the outside and set his sights on the leaders. At the same time, Road To Glory found an opening between the fading Christmas Rainbow and the leader, Chilly Charley.
Out On A Limb came flying into the stretch in an all-out drive. At that point he looked like the winner as Road To Glory seemed to stall between horses. But Road To Glory was far from done. These two burst to the front and quickly opened a four length lead. They came to the wire together, but it was Road To Glory holding off Out On A Limb by a head.
Bred and owned by Mb Stables, Road To Glory has never finished worse than 2nd in three starts. This was his biggest win yet in what looks like a promising career and brings his earnings total to $107.200.
