Marathon Types Do Battle in Smith at AQU

 We head out to a cold, windy, icky, gray AQU racetrack where a field of nine will be going the marathon distance of a mile and an eighth on the inner turf in The Smith (GII) and chasing a nice $300.000 purse in this one.  I’m giving Wayward Prince the nod today… he closed well to get it done in the Knickerbocker (GIII), and this looks like another spot for him to keep the hot hand going.   Winter Solstice is another that certainly deserves a big look off of that win in the Henry Championship (GII) (dh) at SA.  He may be rounding back into form, winning an Alw race prior to that stakes score, and the big barn knows how to ride the wave when they are hot.
