  4     AQU    The Hill Prince (GII)

We stay in Gotham City… ok, it’s Queens, but… still… It’s AQU in the winter on the brown inner turf course as a group of 3yo’s head to the gate for The Hill Prince (GII) a mile and an eighth test as we wind down the year for this group of sophomores.  I’m taking Zakouski One as the top pick, and this one just never seems to run a bad race.  Six starts, four wins, a second and a third… yeah, that’s good stuff.  Showers are in the forecast and this one loves the wet grass, as well.  Battle Plan is another that deserves a look, despite only a single turf try, and that was his first trip to the gate.  He won the Wood (GII) here, was third in the BEL (GI), and his last few have been less than expected; however, this looks like a spot to see if grass was always his preferred surface.
