$600.000 3yo&Up 1 1/8m Dirt 3yo 122lbs Older 124lbs
Down to Louisville we go for Black Friday stakes action, so lay down the leftovers, turn off the ball game and let’s watch a field of nine go to the post for the Clark (GII), with a nice $600.000 purse. The nine-furlong main track test has drawn a nice field and it’s good to see a large number of 3yo’s getting ready for the ’24 season – time to go after those older horses. I landed on a 3yo as my top choice and give Wahpekute Sioux the nod today. He was ninth in the BC Classic (GI) but was only two lengths back in the big race… with four seasonal wins, I think this is a spot for him to get back on track. Let’s stay on the 3yo idea and put Charming Man in the second spot, just as the Green Card did… he’s won two in a row including the Super Derby and the ONT Derby (GIII)… but he did take on older horses in that high-end Alw race at WO, where he just missed by a nose. The weight difference is down to two pounds, so… we find out what they are made of.
