- The Commission Handicap is for older fillies and mares. The state-bred program for New Mexico racehorses. A field of 7 going 5 1/2 furlongs over the Sunland Park racetrack.
- This stake at Sunland has to be as competitive on paper as possible. These fillies and mares have been competing alongside each other for some time now. I will narrow it down to my four choices.
- Let’s start with #1 Spicy Blonde: Trained by First Flight she tried an open Grade 3 last out. She ran out of the money. Spicy Blonde Goes back to New Mexico Bred races where she had much success—winning two and capturing the Salazar Stakes.
- #3 Toast of New York: Trained by Avenue Z. Purchased in the Auction from MB Stables for $10.000. Making the most in the transition running three great races. Winning the $100.000 Petticoat Stakes easily.
- #5 Luna Miss: trained by Asgar, when trained by Asgar on this level is very hard to beat. Her Last out was a winning trip putting the N. M. Classic Oaks on her resume.
- My Man of Steel Enterprises LLC longshot is #6 Opaque: Trained by Keith Austin. The only mare that has stake-winning breeding on both sides of her sire and damn. She is also ran out $324.00 making her top earner in the Stake.
- I talked to trainer of #4 In Switch of grass. T-boy told me his plans to his rider “She’s been too close. We will try to bring her off the pace and make a run. T-boy also stated she’s flourishing for this race!
- Great Racing to all!!!
