This Stake race is in memory of Nelson Menard. A Jockey who rode at the Fairgrounds for 31 years. Menard was also the clerk of scales Until he passed away. Nelson Menard weighed me in/out while I also rode at the Fairgrounds

She has run 41 times winning 14 races. She’s a Multiple Graded Stake champion. Her earnings are an astonishing $2.100.000. The magnificent 7-year-old mare is still winning stakes. My Girl Makita’s last start was the $100.000 Maddox Stake at Santa Anita. The next millionaire that Smokey Stover trains is Great Beneficiary. She draws the outside post of #4 in a short field of 4. 

 My Man of Steel Enterprises longshot is a lightly raced Bay Filly. Her name is Lil Bo trained by Winning Link Stables. She put together three consecutive wins. Her last of three was a wire to wire performance in a Grade 3 Stakes.

   All of these talented fillies and mares love the turf course. Let’s not forget sprinting. Asgar worked Black Tiz in a blistering 57-2 on the inner course at Santa Anita.
