The TP Prevue Changes Complexion in the Dying Strides

The TP Prevue
6 1/2 Furlongs Dirt Stake Purse $125.000 Open 3 Year Olds.

1st Coppa Blue    Riggins Racing    Hernandez C J

This was one of those races that changed literally at the last second as the winner and runner up dived through in the dying strides to set up an exacta that looked unlikely half a furlong before. We have seen this gelding do this before, once when it worked in his maiden and then when it didn’t last time out. Today the timing was perfect, and he got home by a neck looking every bit like a horse that is going to stretch out over further. His works late last year said something like this was about to happen and today it did.

2nd Tulsa Time    Fractious    Hernandez R M

You would have to say a hugely unlucky loser as he just couldn’t find a way through until the last half furlong. The way this race engine works or is it the effect of instructions, we saw two very different races from this one, making all to win his last and turning into a closer today. Either way front or back he looks pretty useful to me but then everything from this stable is looking good at the moment.

3rd On Tap    Winning Link Stables    Cedillo A

Stalked the leader and it looked like a two-horse race until the last strides when this one had his heart broken. A heavy favorite the punters would’ve been queuing up at the pay window a second before they crossed the line, but he paid the price for the two-horse battle he had been fighting from the off and just had nothing left in the dying strides.

4th Figueroa   Royalty Stables   Corrales G

You would feel aggrieved if you lost money on this effort as the lightly raced home bred led from the off and looked to at least be in the first two with yards to go. He hasn’t looked strong at the end of any of his races so far and once again he was paddling in the final strides. It is hard to know whether it is the heart gene or just an instruction issue but even though he ran a great race and gained a triple digit speed figure he had very little to show for it in the end.
