Blazin D Is “Extreme” in Ginger Brew Win at GP

1/6/24

  6  GP    Ginger Brew

$125.000   1m InTurf   3yoF   121lbs +penalties

Wet surface racing, the wrong surface, a big lead that all but evaporated… The Ginger Brew had a lot to discuss, but the favorite won so the bettors were happy.  Blazin D‘s Extreme Metal pushed the early pace, took over when asked, opened a big lead in the lane and then held off the late efforts of Magicka to take the flat-mile turf stakes by three-quarters of a length.  She stopped the clock at 1:38.64 over the non-existent inner-turf course at GP, which was listed Soft.  As mentioned Magicka tried to make a late race of it, but the lead was too much to overcome as she took the second spot by daylight over Home By Dawn in third.  First Royal took the minor money with ten lengths covering the field of seven.
