Yeah Noha Shines In The Mud In Glitter Woman

Glitter Woman ($100.000 Purse)
GP- For Fillies Three Years Old
Six Furlongs on the Dirt
January 7, 2024

The field for the Glitter Woman may not have been the most impressive, but that does not mean that the race can’t provide an opportunity for the winner, and other top finishers to be a steppingstone for their three-year-old season. It was always going to be a wide-open race, and with the soaking rain leaving the track muddy, the race would be completely up in the air. The end result would be Yeah Noha handling the conditions the best and going on to get the win. That gives trainer D J C Racing Stables his first win in the race, and that’s also true for jockey El Gonzalez. Congratulations to them! The winning time was 1:12.24, let’s take a look at it!

(1/4 Mile- :22.88)- Takoshi heads out to the lead for Grayfriars Stable, and she will hold a length lead over Nakamura Stables’ Firebrand, who has a similar advantage on third place Awesome Angel, for TwinTowersRacing. There’s a slight gap to the rest of the field, which sees the filly on the outside, Fractious- trained Secret Of A Lady running fourth, slightly surpassing Silver Springs, saddled by South Shore Stables. Viper Command runs between them for Aer Stables, and nearby on the rail is our eventual winner from D J C Racing Stables, Yeah Noha. It’s another length to the trailer, Asgar’s Improvised Sin.

(½ Mile- :47.06, Top of Stretch, 1.6F To Go)- Midway through the turn, very little has changed with the running of the field, but towards the exit of the turn it looks like this race will be decided between Firebrand and Takoshi as the two of them have pulled away from Awesome Angel and it was two lengths back to the rest of the field. Yeah Noha and Viper Command looked to have the best chances on getting to the leaders in the stretch. Others would have a lot of work to do to snag the win.

(Finish- 1:12.24)- With a furlong to go, the pacesetters began to show signs of tiring, and both Yeah Noha and Firebrand were making up ground considerably. Firebrand tried to hang on, and Viper Command began to slow in his progress. That was not true for Yeah Noha, who was handling the mud in the stretch very well. He would pull up alongside Firebrand with more than enough time left and would go on by without all that much trouble. Viper Command would get by Firebrand for second but was not able to pose a further threat to Yeah Noha. Fourth place spoils go to Secret Of A Lady, who beats Takoshi, Silver Springs, Improvised Sin, and Awesome Angel.

About The Winner- Yeah Noha, trained by D J C Racing Stables and ridden to victory by El Gonzalez, is a three-year-old filly by Lawful and is out of Sweetest Chant. He was bred in New York by D J C Racing Stables, and they have been together throughout! Congratulations to the connections! The win is her second in seven starts, and first stake win. Her career earnings are now $115.290.
