Holly smokes… that was a finish!  A battle all the way down the hill, around the turn and through the lane, Maxmillion Farm’s Hollywood Babe prevailed by a head to take Saturday’s SSM F/M Turf Sprint, edging out two foes in the photo and stopping the clock in 1:12.70.  That’s a new stakes record at that distance, although this stakes has been run at 5 1/2f, 6 and 6 1/2f.  Sweetness kept the pressure up from the eventual winner’s inside, but just missed in a solid effort.  Stellar Agent was a neck back of that one in third, holding off the late charge of Flyingbolt, who got the minor money.  Three lengths covered the field of six.
