The five-year-olds at this time of year seem to really flourish and after a decent four-year-old season this one looks to be getting better and better as evidenced by his smart work times and consistent form. Always on the speed he just kept on giving all the way to the line today for a tough win and looks to set up his best year.

It just goes to show how difficult it is to sort out class levels at HRP as this one has been running at a much lower grade but still very nearly won this. He is clearly improving and it will be interesting to see where he goes next.

3rd Wyatt Langmore Fractious Smith M E

He traveled in a good enough position in transit but just found this trip too sharp in the end. I think if this had been seven furlongs or a mile, he would’ve won but there are always if’s and but’s at HRP.

4th What A Joke Delta Farms Dettori L

Flew home from the back for fourth which may have cost him the race but is also the way he runs his best races. He has closed over five and a half furlongs and nine furlongs, so I guess we have to accept that as his running style, but I think it cost him a better finishing position today.
