A Little Devil Takes LA Stakes

LA Stakes – Grade III
1 1/16 Mile Dirt Stake Purse $175.000 Open 4 Year Olds And Up.

1st Demon Wood Duck Stables Geroux F

Two strong wins in routes may be the key to this five-year-old’s future being at around the mile and we may see him build into a slightly different BC race than he has been used to in recent years. He has been good for a very long time but one always felt that he was better than good and just maybe this switch in trips will see him reach the heights that he has been promising too for a long time. It was great to see him defy the draw monster today and we are left wondering just what he might do with an inside draw!

2nd Hard To Forgive D J C Racing Stables Silvera Ru

Ran his best race today keeping on today, the winner honest down the stretch. Consistency in his running style has always been a problem but it went well today, and he will have pleased his trainer.

3rd Brother Bear Spb Racing Husbands P

It may be only the trainer’s second season, but they are making quite the impression with some nice horse flesh and some good results. This one wasn’t good enough to bother the first two but ran a solid third place finish and considering he is a four-year-old may have a bright future going forward.

4th Crack Dab Gdp Inc Velazquez J R

It looks like the old fella still has something to give running on strongly into fourth but in former years he would’ve won or at least pushed the winner hard, so I think we can say he isn’t the horse he was. Having said that this was a competitive race, and he did very well so there could still be a few more big races in his legs.
