Alydar Stables proves to have a sharp eye and a more than capable checkbook, as their $300.000 purchase of Hobo Blues pays instance dividends… the bay filly rallied from mid pack, showing best in a photo and taking the lion’s share in The Martha Washington at OP on Saturday.  Fresh off of a maiden win at DED, the sharp 3yo raced wide throughout the mile and a sixteenth stakes, closed determinedly down the center of the track and just nosed out Reflex Action for the victory.  Reflex Action had a rail trip most of the way around the muddy track,  moved to the 3p down the lane, closed well to take the second sport.  Double Zee was three-quarters of a length back in third after doing the heavy lifting to deep stretch, and Be Yourself closed well to get the minor purse share.  Twelve lengths covered the field of Twelve.
