Will the Parx Sprint Turn into a Tragedy?

PARX Sprint – Grade III
PRX   Race #8   5f   Turf   Graded Stake
Purse $200.000  For Three Year Olds And Upward.

1 Frodomoto, trained by Mb Stables
who ever wins this sprint is going to have to run mid 56 to do so and the question
that needs to be answered by this four year old is can he do that. A good fourth in
the Connaught Cup Stakes last time out he was running on at the end suggesting this
trip may be a bit sharp. A winner of five from ten over route trips he will certainly
be running on at the end but he will need to show some early speed to be close enough
to launch his challenge.

2 Go For Six, trained by Yankee Doodle Stable
Another four year old he has the speed to win this but just seems to lack the class
required. bought for just twenty dollars he will need things to go his way to win but
whatever happens he certainly looks a very good buy.

3 Tragedy, trained by Spankys Barn
Three year olds have a huge advantage at the moment with the weight allowance they are
getting. In real life the older horses still have a development edge on the three’s but on
HRP that doesnt exist so the only question is whether this three year old is quick enough
to make the 5Lbs the difference. Going on his last run he can hit the late 56’s with this weight
so he will certainly go close but his chances are not as clear cut as other races have been.

4 Quasi Normal, trained by Night Rider Stables
A fast worker who is an all out sprinter which will certainly help his chances over this
five furlongs. He went very quick to take the Shakertown at grade two but had also proved
he can produce it on the dirt when previously taking the Mr Prospector. If he can get to the
front he will be very hard to peg back.

5 Dogs Dragon, trained by Maxmillion Farm
finished in front of both Frodomoto and Go For Six in his last two starts but behind Quasi Normal
in the Shakertown suggesting the latter has the edge. A very good sprinter it will again be
very close between the three rivals and could come down to who gets the best trip.

6 Cape Horn Rocker, trained by Hambletonian Stable
Cape Horn Rockers trainer tends to place for maximum winning chance rather than glory so the
fact that he has been entered in this says loads for his chances. A very quick sprinter he
recorded triple digits in The Albany last time and has racked up 13 turf sprints in his long
career. A win wouldnt surprise but he may just lack the edge needed.

7 Sea Speaker, trained by Sanny Village
Ran very well to be third in The Highlander and has been very lightly raced since that run. He
ran OK after a ten month break in his last start but will need to step up on that. He may not
be sharp enough over this five furlongs but he is entitled to improve on his last start and isnt
out of it.

SUMMARY
I usually just go for the three year old in these events and am right 90% of the time but this
looks much closer than the other all aged stakes i have reviewed. On form lines Quasi Normal looks
the one with Dogs Dragon right on his tail. If the three year old can win this it would be a bit
of a shame because it would only be the weight and not any proven form but that is the way of things
at the moment so you cant blame Spankys Barn for what looks like a clever entry. Good luck to all.
