8 GP The Kittens Joy (GIII)
$150.000 3yo 1 1/16m Turf 121 + penalties
SoFla and a nice group of sophomores set to go a mile and a sixteenth in The Kittens Joy (GIII), over the lush green lawn here at GP. My top pick in this one is a bit of a head-scratcher, but… Trouble Brewing closed well to be third in the BC Juv Turf (GI), but threw a couple of bad races at the Alw level since then. One was on the main track, so we can look the other way on that, and that sixth place finish on the SA lawn was a closing effort… so I’ll look for him to bounce back, use his normal closing kick to had advantage with the extra sixteenth, and get home first today. Right next door to that one in the starting gate, Were Wolf looks like a horse that is running very well right now, free off of that Dania Beach win, over this turf (the imaginary innerTurf)… it was wet that afternoon, but he shows two firm grass wins, and looks like a tough cookie. Let’s just move over one more gate and put Perfect Sunday in the picture… the cold was second in that Dania Beach race, and was third in the Summer (GI) at WO. The barn is always tough, and I think we have a solid tri to go after here.
