It certainly never surprises me when this stable gets a surprise winner, in fact it seems that they win more races with un-fancied long shots than they do with favorites. This filly did what very few horses have been able to do at HRP recently and that is stalk the leader on the rail from the ace and still win. Putting her last three efforts behind her she at last showed the potential she hinted at when winning two of her first three races and puts herself firmly into the KYO picture.

2nd Spirit Storm Nakamura Stables Lopez P

She tried to do what she did in the Busanda, and it very nearly worked going hard from the gate and just getting caught inside the last half furlong. In only her fourth start, this was a fine effort, but it was that hard early pace which killed her in the end. If she can regulate that front running speed, she will be tough in the Oaks but with instructions so difficult to use at the moment that won’t be an easy task.

3rd Barbara Big Jd Racing Moore R L

Loomed up like she was going to win but once again couldn’t find that finishing pace to put them away. This was another solid effort from this consistent filly, and I think we will see a lot of her going forward.

4th The Desire Sheffler Stables Gallardo A A

Came with a late run to be fourth but never looked like beating the winner over the mile. She runs consistently though, and this was a decent effort.
