There’s a ton of coverage for the KYD and the road that leads there, but let’s not forget the ladies… Since I’m covering the KY Oaks (GI), this seems like a logical spot for me to concentrate… ok, I almost said that with a straight face.  What a nice group of sophomore fillies we have for the FG Oaks (GII)… I’m going with Spirit Storm to keep her form and win this one.  Two wins and two seconds from four starts, won the Busunda at AQU and just missed in the SUN Oaks, she uses speed to her advantage… and I’d look for more of the same today.  Let’s go right next door and look for Lady Lara to be in the middle of things.  She lost her unbeaten record last out when she closed to be second in the Honeybee (GIII) at OP, but those tight turns in Hot Springs makes it tough on a closer… today, she gets clear sailing and could run down the top choice.  Children Of The Sod may come into this with some odds and has a pair of starts over the course… the 128lb impost in the Silverbulletday was an impossible task, then ran a good third in the Alexandra (GII) on a wet track… watch her, especially at the price.
