There’s a German Invasion in Ali

Ali – Grade III
1 3/16 Mile Dirt Stake Purse $300.000 Open 4 Year Olds And Up.

1st Berlin The Sidley Stud Jimenez A

It has to be said after four furlongs and a fairly average pace and the bulk of the fancied runners sitting way off the leading three that this horse looked the winner. Traveling on the rail against two of the outsiders with a gap back to the others, people were queuing at the tote windows long before this race was over. The horse extended for an easy win and was never really pressured and has found a rich vein of form this season thanks to good draws and clever placement. He has always promised this sort of result since the trainer claimed him for just $7.000 last year when he was given that sprinkling of five-year-old fairy dust and the sky is now the limit for the gelded son of the great Ginger Haggis.

2nd Nutmeg TwinTowersRacing Cedillo A

This one benefited from the strange tactics the AI had set with the chasing pack and did really well after being stuck wide for most of the trip. He kept on really bravely for second spicing up the Exacta returns in the process.

3rd Uranus Threshold Gallardo A A

The grade one winner was taken back to last off an average pace and from then on in the writing was on the wall.

4th Burnin Red Hooves TwinTowersRacing Davis D

Benefited from the AI decisions and was the third of the three that set the pace. He was the early leader and the first to falter but managed to hold off most of the closers who couldn’t make ground in the sprint for home.
