14 PIM The Dinner Party Stakes (GIII)
$500.000 3yo&Up 1 1/8m Turf 3yo 119lbs Older 124lbs
Run-down, ol PIM, with the black-widows and failing infrastructure… I guess this is the last year in this old tinderbox, so good riddance. We look at the field for The Dinner Party Stakes (GIII) a mile and an eighth test for three-year olds and up, and we can describe the Green Card‘s picks, since mine are sandwiched in there somewhere.
NOTE – Rain/scratches have taken our top selections… The Card says go with Wayward Prince
Willie takes my second pick on top, as Mb Stables nabs Flaming Hot out of a $25.000 claiming race and strikes first out, taking the Muniz Mem (GII) at FG, at 20/1 odds. I doubt you get that here, but this seems like a step down for this one, so he should be tough. He goes with Wayward Prince from the Angelos Stable in the second spot, that one fresh off of an Alw win at GG. He was fifth in a pair of graded stakes, prior to that, but has won two of four starts, so he can certainly get the job done when he’s right. My top selection and third on The Card is Maxmillion Farm’s Last Way To The Beac… this one may be the class of the race and when he’s hitting on all eight, you’d best watch out. Nice win (DH) last out in the Appleton (GIII) at GP and seems to go as far as his speed with take him… most of the time, it’s to the winner’s circle.
