The Miss PS – Grade III
6 Furlongs Dirt Stake Purse $150.000 Filly 3 Year Olds.
1st Pleased To Meet Ya Mb Stables Cedillo A
There aren’t many horses that can bounce off at a 22 second first quarter in the lead from a wide gate and still maintain an advantage to the line, let alone a filly in only her fourth start and her first at stakes level. But Mb’s horses can do what others can’t and this filly just may be very special indeed. Unraced as a two-year-old she is now three from four at three and the champion trainer must be looking at ways to get her into the BC after this impressive performance.
2nd Killeacle Girl The Sidley Stud Franco M
Made ground steadily to run into second but never looked like getting to the winner despite that filly’s fast early pace. Whether there was some instructional motivation behind her more economical run today it certainly suited her better and now the trainer will be looking at trying to help her go one better.
3rd Hawaiian Blaze Fractious Husbands P
Despite possessing good early pace herself she couldn’t challenge the wide gate and the early pace of the leader and had to settle for the stalk. We often find that the stalk can be the worst place to be on a strong pace and sure enough when the whips came out, she just whacked away at the one pace. This was a decent effort from this admirably consistent filly, and I am sure she will be winning a race like this soon enough.
4th Yeah Noha D J C Racing Stables Moore R L
Went back from the wide gate, option B from the race engine and one felt that may be a good choice as the early pace was very strong. Closing on this new engine however isn’t what it used to be, and she struggled to make her way through the traffic ending up a strong finishing fourth.
