1 Oceanus Wood Duck Stables Maldonado E 124 —
Another one that the stable had been sprinting but has taken over longer trips recently she would certainly be a big chance here on all form over any trip. She only just failed under a light weight in the Apple Blossom Handicap last time running home strongly to be beaten just a head at the post. She gets a great gate to stay handy today and must be a chance in a small but select field.
2 Pink Attack The Sidley Stud Moore R L 124 —
Fourth in the BC Distaff last year this seven-year-old had a massive season last year but has taken a bit of time to come right this year. After fair efforts she looked back to her best in the Top Flight Handicap last time when making all under top weight and running out a cozy winner. At her best and from this draw she would win this and there was a lot to like about that win last time.
3 Texas Holdem D J C Racing Stables Van Dyke D 124 —
She has been harshly treated by the draw monster recently so her form looks to have dropped off, but I think she is better than that and gets a chance today from a decent gate. A long way back in the Apple Blossom last time she will have to lay up closer to the pace than usual but with a small field today she should find that easier.
4 Ignore Tucker Fractious Smith M E 124 —
This is one of those horses that has achieved a fair bit, but you can’t help wondering if she has ever really fulfilled her early promise. A strong worker she could blow these away if things go well for her, but she can sometimes disappoint at the end of her races. A small field will suit her, but she is a risky betting proposition.
5 Majestic Chai TwinTowersRacing Gutierrez Mario 124 —
It is always tough to write a horse from this stable off as they can pop up at long odds when you least expect it. A fair filly she was well beaten in the Top Flight Handicap, so I can’t see how she can beat Pink Attack on that form and whilst she can go a good one you would have to say that out of the five, she looks the least attractive.
SUMMARY
A salty field, it won’t be easy to find the winner even with just five starters. I think Ignore Tucker will be in the top two and Pink Attack looks to have got her form back but on bare recent form it has to be Oceanus for the win.
