1 End Of The Devil Maxmillion Farm Hernandez R M 122 —

A little bit disappointing in the Edgewood last time but that could be down to the off track and her previous two efforts certainly give her a winning chance in this. She won the Herecomesthebride Stakes from this gate and very nearly followed that up in the Appalachian so with the turf king at the reins she will be among the favorites for this race.

2 Neon Star Night Mare Racing Bridgmohan S X 122 —

An off-track specialist the track came right for her in the Edgewood and she ran a close fourth. If there is moisture, she will be a good bet off this favorable draw and even of it stays dry she certainly has the ability to be in this at the end.

3 The Desire Sheffler Stables Gallardo A A 122 —

Won her maiden and has since run five very good races all in good grade. Switching back to turf where she was third in the Durante her runs rather interestingly rather reflect her name as she has run third or fourth in those five starts with every chance in each but seemed to lack that killer blow at the end. This is her best draw for a while, and I like her over this trip on the turf so this could be her day.

4 Reaper Lightning Fractious Gutierrez Mario 122 —

Won the Edgewood but was another suited by the off track so that form could be a little suspect. Taking that race out she has run some super races on dirt and turf and looks another strong entry from the yard that has exploded onto the scene this year. She hasn’t had many favors from the draw monster recently so this better draw could well see her taking this out.

5 Cycle Breaker Mb Stables Franco M 122 —

A lightly raced daughter of Tactical she has to be respected even though she has only won one from four. She had her first run on the turf last time out and was a decent fourth in the Providencia Stakes, but I felt she was just a little tired at the end there so worry about going this trip again. Anything from this stable is a winning chance but she doesn’t stand out for me.

6 Wonderful World Smokey Stover Dettori L 122 —

Beaten by the off track in the Edgewood last time her best would certainly see her having a winning chance here as a grade one winner. She may get her chance if the track stays dry to get back to winning ways today.

7 Ashley Panther Williams9 Cedillo A 122 —

A gutsy win last time you can never say never at HRP, but I can’t like this one for the win.

8 Bella Latte Fractious Velazquez J R 122 —

Completes a strong hand for the stable and completes the Edgewood form here as she was a close second to her stable companion in that race. She had won the Appalachian the time before on a dry track so I suspect she may be the one to improve the most if the track stays dry. The wide gate may sap her stamina though.

SUMMARY

Well, if I know form at HRP the Edgewood form will be totally reversed whatever the weather for this race, so once again this may be a race for the pin. I think I will settle on Reaper Lightening to beat Wonderful World and Bella Latte here, but I have no confidence in those selections and any one of five could win.
