A swing and a miss as both the Green Card and I are way off base in this one…  Maryparty takes the honors as odds-on favorite Crickets tracked the pace into the lane and edged clear holding off all challengers and taking The Manila (GIII) by a half-length while stopping the timer at 1:32.66 for the flat mile on the inner-Turf course, here at AQU.  That’s two wins in a row after that eleventh-place finish in this year’s KYD (GI), so it appears the chestnut gelding is back in form and putting money in the bank for this barn.  Numbskull, from the Blazin D barn, closed a late gap and was coming after the winner, but ran out of racetrack while securing the place by three quarters of a length over the early pacesetter and Mb Stables owned Person Of Interest in third.  It was another quarter-length to Mo Mentum Farm’s Freddo Caramel in the minor money spot.  Five lengths covered the field of seven, and the sod was listed as Firm.
